STEM / Engineering / Industrial Arts TeacherLocation: Massabesic High SchoolPosition SummaryDeliver appropriate instruction and services to students to ensure they develop the knowledge, skills, and habits of work necessary to become successful individuals and citizens.
Reports ToBuilding Administration (Principal and/or Assistant Principal)Qualifications (in order of preference)700 Industrial Arts / Technology350s Physical ScienceCTE Career & Technical Education680 Computer TechnologyPerformance ResponsibilitiesPlan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students in a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to their maturity and interests.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects.Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide feedback as required.
Assess learning difficulties and seek assistance from district specialists as needed.
Strive to improve professionally through ongoing learning and reflection.
Assist administration in implementing school policies and maintaining a fair, orderly classroom.
Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, funds, and facilities.
Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.Organize class materials and plans to ensure minimal disruption during teacher absences.
Utilize community resources when available.
Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when reasonably requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Terms of EmploymentSalary, work year, and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated in accordance with the School Boards policy on evaluation.
Physical DemandsThe employee must be able to:
Sit, stand, climb stairs, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push, and pull.
Lift 2575 lbs (depending on student size).Perform other physical tasks as required.
