We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk, managing patient interactions, and supporting the overall administrative functions of the medical office.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries effectively.
- Verify patient insurance information and perform insurance verification to ensure coverage prior to appointments.
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Process medical collections and manage billing inquiries while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding for proper billing procedures.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans and follow-up appointments.
- Support the clinical team with clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized office records.
Skills
- Proficiency in EHR system, will train
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices.
- Experience in a medical office setting with a focus on front desk operations and patient service.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and 10-key typing for efficient data entry.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with patients and staff.
- Familiarity with health information management practices and insurance verification processes is essential.
