POSITION TITLE: COMMUNITY SERVICES ASSOCIATE A/CHILD ATTENDANT
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: This position serves as a CSA A when mothers with children are not admitted in the Women’s Center. This position provides child minding while mothers with children attend clinical groups, psychiatry appointments, and/or individual counseling sessions. This position also provides parenting support including psychoeducation in child development, positive discipline strategies, healthy communication and boundary setting. This position reports to the Program Manager/Program Director and assists in development of resources to better complete their daily duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires effective written and verbal communication on the high school graduate level. Some experience in child care and/or child development is preferred, but not required.
Education
Knowledge of: child development, parenting practices, evidence-based parent coaching modalities, healthy communication, boundary setting, use of routine and structure for positive behavior, behavior modification
Skills in: written and verbal communication, teamwork mentality, appropriate care of infants and toddlers, daily reporting for on coming shifts, use of Microsoft products for tracking of progress and/or client needs
Abilities to: work within a team, effectively communicate, exhibit a respectful and recovery-oriented atmosphere
GRADE: 7 or 8

SCHEDULE: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Understanding of child development and attachment
- Preferred: At least 1 year in a residential setting (i.e. CNA, CSA, etc.)
- Preferred: Experience with early childhood development
- To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the program, a valid Virginia Driver’s License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (required)
- For business use of a personal car, a certificate of valid personal automobile insurance must be provided (required)
