Our admissions counselors assist prospective applicants with the goal of converting qualified applicants to enrolled students. They demonstrate effective professionalism and extraordinary customer service in every prospect and applicant conversation on the phone, in person, and through email communication. Our admissions call center fields a high number of inbound and outbound calls guiding prospects through degree consultation, career counseling, and the application process. Our hiring process is swift and efficient. We aim to prescreen and interview within one week of your application. We begin a new hiring cohort at the beginning of each month. During your interview process we will discuss your full range of benefits including tuition remission and the specifications of the admissions counselor role. Previous experience in admissions or higher education is not required. We provide paid onboarding and all of the training that you will need for your position.

Major Function/Purpose of the Position:

The admissions consultant is responsible for functions that contribute to converting inquires to qualified applicants at Regent University. The environment for this position is a sales-driven role placed in a blended inbound and outbound call center. This position is expected to demonstrate effective professionalism and extraordinary customer service while communicating and managing prospective students and general inquires of Regent University.

Essential Functions:

1. Represent Regent University as a general recruiter for all undergraduate and graduate school programs providing extraordinary customer service with each prospect.

2. Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge on university culture and programs while effectively advising prospective students on program fit and admissions requirements.

3. Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge on all student-related resources including admissions processes, financial aid, costs, transfer guidelines, licensure guidelines, military benefits and other pertinent information to assist with sales-related conversations.

4. Make a high volume of outbound phone calls, receive inbound calls, and maintain comprehensive student records through the correct use of technology while maintaining confidentiality.

5. Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each term as determined by Enrollment Management leadership while adhering to dynamic, internal work processes.

6. Demonstrate exceptional professionalism in working with internal and external stakeholders in person and in writing.

7. Commitment to learning and professional development. The admissions consultant is responsible for learning and retaining all new and job-related content presented (for utilization in daily work).

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and participate in admissions and recruitment events as required.

2. Assist with onboarding and training of new staff members.

3. Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

1-2 years of sales and/or customer service (preferred but not required)

Prerequisites for the Job:

  • 1-2 years customer service, sales and/or telemarketing experience is strongly recommended by not required.
  • Strong organizational abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills with an ability to establish rapport with a diverse customer base.
  • Must be motivated, coachable, and be effective in a production-driven work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends including rotating Saturdays and second shift (12pm-9pm).
  • Reliable transportation to travel to and from work in a timely manner.
  • Appropriate competence and ability to be trained in technology including Customer Relation Management (CRM) systems, Microsoft Suite and phone systems and multi-tasking within these systems including average to minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.

3. Advises, consults and coordinates regularly with: AVP of Enrollment Management, Director of Admissions, Associate/Assistant Directors of Admissions, and internal management teams.

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
