OVERVIEW
The Travel Advisor is responsible for helping clients plan and book leisure and corporate travel experiences. This role involves advising clients on the best destinations, creating customized travel itineraries, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the booking process. The Travel Advisor will also focus on building and growing a book of business, establishing trust with clients, sourcing the best travel options and suppliers, and managing crises as they arise. The role requires attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle the complexities of travel planning, ensuring each client has a seamless and memorable experience.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through consistent communication, providing personalized service that exceeds expectations.
  • Curate Travel Itineraries: Hand-select the best itinerary components (flights, accommodations, activities, and transportation) that align with each client’s travel style, budget, and goals.
  • Sourcing & Supplier Management: Research and collaborate with the best suppliers to ensure clients receive the highest quality options and the best available pricing.
  • Crisis Management: Respond to unforeseen travel issues or emergencies swiftly, using critical thinking and resourcefulness to find effective solutions that maintain the client's experience.
  • Marketing & Client Acquisition: Curate marketing efforts aimed at attracting the ideal client demographic to grow your book of business. Sales Reporting: Report on sales revenue and commissions, ensuring accurate tracking and accounting of transactions.
  • Continuing Education & Networking: Attend familiarization trips, virtual trainings, and other educational opportunities to stay up-to-date with travel trends and deepen industry knowledge.
  • Sales Goals & Performance: Work toward meeting weekly and monthly sales goals, striving for growth and success in your business development efforts.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow team members to exchange travel insights, ideas, and strategies that benefit the business and enhance client offerings.
  • Company Engagement: Actively participate in company meetings, retreats, and other team-building events.
  • Client Follow-Up & Retention: Engage with clients post-trip to gather feedback and foster relationships for future business opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Travel Planning Expertise: Proven experience organizing leisure and corporate travel, with a deep understanding of the travel industry and its nuances. Exceptional
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent at managing multiple clients, tasks, and bookings simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; bilingual candidates are preferred for handling international clients.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service, ensuring that all client needs are met, and expectations exceeded.
  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Skilled in resourceful thinking to resolve travel challenges or emergencies quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to the client's experience.
  • Payment Processing & Confidentiality: Experience with processing payment information securely and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of client dealings.
  • Travel Experience: Personal experience with both domestic and international travel, including knowledge of popular destinations and insider tips.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on the finer details of the trip planning process, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technology: Access to personal technology (computer, phone) required for job functions. The company will not provide these devices.
  • Workspace: A reliable and quiet workspace is necessary for executing tasks, attending virtual meetings, and communicating with clients and suppliers.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work across a variety of technology systems and remain adaptable as new tools and platforms are implemented.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Travel, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in organizing and booking travel, with a background in customer service or sales. Experience in both domestic and international travel planning is advantageous.
