Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and reliable Security Officer to safeguard our premises, personnel, and visitors. Your primary role will be to detect suspicious behavior, prevent illegal or dangerous activities, and help ensure a secure and orderly environment. The ideal candidate is well-trained in security operations, calm under pressure, and capable of maintaining a strong presence that deters wrongdoing.
Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a visible security presence
- Monitor and control access of vehicles and individuals into the property
- Deter and remove trespassers, vandals, or those engaging in suspicious activity
- Lock and secure all exits, doors, and windows at the end of business operations
- Monitor surveillance cameras and systems periodically to detect disruptions or unlawful behavior
- Investigate suspicious individuals or behavior in accordance with security protocols
- Respond promptly to alarms and assess the situation to determine appropriate action
- Provide assistance to staff or visitors in need of help
- Apprehend and detain individuals following legal procedures until authorities arrive
- Accurately complete and submit daily reports of surveillance activity and notable incidents
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or similar role
- Thorough understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Proficient in report writing and incident documentation
- Strong observational and surveillance skills
- Tech-savvy, with experience using security and monitoring systems
- Must be registered/licensed as a Security Officer
- High school diploma or equivalent required
