Job Summary:
The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse and production floor. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. The Material Handler will also be responsible for operating material handling equipment and ensuring that all safety procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials
- Store materials in designated locations
- Pick and pack materials for production departments
- Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Working Conditions:
The Material Handler will work in a warehouse environment, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors. The position may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods of time.
About the Role:
· Be responsible for counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments.
· Stock and maintain the warehouse; and pick, document, and pack production orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
· Act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels inventory accuracy.
· Handle inventory discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to warehouse supervisor.
· Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
· Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable materials that could impact production requirements.
· Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety. Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris. Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
· Assist co-workers in stocking production areas.
· Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
· Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
· Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
