The Assistant to the President fulfills a mission-critical role on the RTS Orlando Campus. The president’s office interfaces with a variety of constituents, to include students, donors, churches, prospective seminarians, visiting scholars. The Assistant to the President represents both the president’s office and the Orlando campus to each of these groups.

Under the general direction of the President of the Orlando Campus, the Assistant to the President provides administrative support to the president’s office (including the Vice President of Community Relations) in a wide variety of areas including, but not limited to scheduling, communications, academic support, event management, day-to-day administrative functions, special projects, and campus operations.

The Assistant to the President serves as the primary coordinator between the president’s office and all campus departments: academics, admissions, development, operations, and student life; ensuring that all departments work cohesively to execute the mission, vision, and values of RTS Orlando under the leadership of the President.

ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS

  • Schedule and coordinate planning meetings at president’s office, cabinet, and campus staff levels.
  • Manage President’s travel schedule and calendar requests.
  • Manage updates and reporting from donor database
  • Oversee and execute multiple aspects of donor communication plan
  • Aid in supporting donor events and meetings
  • Assist in course management (syllabus, Canvas, communication with students, gradebook).
  • As needed, serve as campus-institution liaison by writing campus reports, managing annual reviews, and coordinating campus-institution communications.
  • Assist with academic projects, host visiting faculty, coordinate special lectures and academic events.
  • Various administrative tasks including development support, record-keeping, budgeting, and general office management.
Requirements:
  • Exhibits mature Christian character, high degree of discretion, and commitment in personal and professional responsibilities.
  • Translates the President’s needs, goals and priorities into tasks that can be managed and executed in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for effectively dealing with a broad range of individuals at various levels within an organization.
  • Excellent written communication skills for preparing correspondence, documents, newsletters, brochures, etc. Familiarity with both academic and theological language.
  • Excellent long-range planning skills and the ability to multi-task and coordinate all levels of projects and events. Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars.
  • Works effectively on a team; displays leadership in organizing people to execute a given task.
  • Administrative experience with skills in office management; anticipates needs, self-starter, works well under pressure, exercises good judgment, particularly with sensitive or confidential matters, high attention to detail.
  • Experience with standard electronic work processing, spreadsheet, calendar, and email programs.
  • Ability and willingness to support events and special meetings.
  • Ability and willingness to learn various platforms essential to campus functions, including, but not limited to: Raiser’s Edge, RegFox, ActiveCampaign, WordPress, Canvas, and Zoom Webinar.
