Job Overview
Reference is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Professional to support growth in the Des Moines-Urbandale metro areas.
We’re looking for a business builder—not an order taker.
Reference Smart Systems delivers audio/video, security, networks, lighting and other smart technology solutions for residential and commercial customers. We need a market-facing leader who can identify opportunities, develop trusted relationships, get in front of decision-makers, pursue projects, negotiate effectively, and win profitable work.
You might come from the technology integration industry, construction, home building, commercial contracting, or another field where relationships and results matter. Industry experience is valuable, but demonstrated business-development success matters most.
The right person will take ownership of local growth while collaborating with our design, engineering, and installation teams. You will represent our company professionally, follow through on commitments, and build repeat business and referrals.
What We're Looking For:
· 3 years’ of experience in business development, sales, or account management
· Proven ability to close deals and hit revenue targets
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
· Experience with CRM software
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required
· Familiarity with the Des Moines/Urbandale business community
· B2B sales or professional services experience – IT, A/V, and or Security experience preferred
· Local networking and community involvement
