Head Varsity Baseball Coach
Position Summary
Reeths-Puffer Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Head Varsity Baseball Coach to lead our high school baseball program. The successful candidate will foster a positive, competitive environment that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and academic success while representing Reeths-Puffer Schools with integrity and professionalism.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the varsity baseball program.
- Develop student-athletes both individually and as a team through effective instruction and positive coaching.
- Promote good sportsmanship, character, teamwork, and respect.
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, officials, and the community.
- Collaborate with sub-varsity coaches to ensure program continuity and player development.
- Organize and supervise practices, competitions, and team activities.
- Maintain equipment and assist with inventory and program needs.
- Ensure compliance with all MHSAA, league, district, and Board of Education rules and regulations.
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage academic achievement.
- Attend required meetings and professional development as assigned by the Athletic Director.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous baseball coaching experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of baseball, including player development and game strategy.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Commitment to developing a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Must meet all district, MHSAA, and state coaching requirements, including CPR/First Aid and concussion training, if applicable.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Compensation
Compensation is based on the Reeths-Puffer Schools Master Agreement.
