Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
· Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned multifamily properties and ownership entities
· Ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and compliant with company reporting standards
· Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules
· Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations in revenue and expenses
· Prepare financial reporting packages for leadership and ownership groups

General Ledger & Month-End Close
· Record and post journal entries including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications
· Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
· Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger
· Ensure timely completion of month-end close for multiple entities and properties
· Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for all financial transactions

Multi-Entity Accounting
· Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple ownership entities and property portfolios
· Allocate expenses and shared costs appropriately across properties and entities
· Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
· Ensure proper entity-level financial reporting and documentation

Budgeting & Forecasting Support
· Assist with annual property budget preparation
· Monitor budget-to-actual performance and identify financial trends
· Support forecasting and financial planning activities
· Provide financial analysis to assist property and asset management teams with operational decisions

Compliance & Internal Controls
· Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
· Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and expense approvals
· Support external audits, lender reporting, and ownership reporting requirements
· Maintain documentation for financial records and transactions

Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
· Provide guidance on expense coding, financial processes, and budget adherence
· Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests

Process Improvement
· Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy
· Participate in accounting system enhancements and workflow improvements
· Assist in implementing best practices across accounting and reporting functions

Reporting Structure
Reports to: Director of Finance / Controller
This role collaborates closely with Accounting, Asset Management, and Property Operations teams.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
· 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily property management or real estate
· Experience managing financial reporting for multiple entities or property portfolios
· Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices
· Experience with property management and accounting platforms such as ResMan, AvidXchange (Avid), Yardi, AppFolio, or similar systems preferred
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
