REEL USA has an exciting opportunity for a Project Buyer with knowledge, skills, and experience to develop the local supply chain and deploy the internal procurement processes. The Project Buyer will be responsible to oversee everything from supply chain development, purchase orders management and suppliers management. All work tasks are performed in a safe manner while following plant policies and procedures. The Project Buyer will work on-site at the Springfield, IL location.

How Will You Make An Impact
In this role, your primary duty will be to responsible for developing the local supply chain, deploying internal procurement processes, and overseeing the full purchasing cycle, from RFQs to supplier management and invoicing. This role requires a safety mind-set, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, a ton of good energy, and effective time management. A successful candidate will be someone who can:
- Work in a safe manner. Actively participates in REEL USA's safety, health, and environmental programs. Attends scheduled team meetings and completes safety training requirements. Keeps work area safe and clean.
- Develop the local supply chain in welding, machining, painting, electrical supplies as well as subcontracting services;
- Manage the purchase orders process by maintaining consistent follow-up on active RFQs and purchase orders in coordination with project managers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, discounts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers; conduct site visits as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and tracking systems for all purchasing activities.
- Participate in supplier evaluations reviews.
- Resolve disputes and handle supplier complaints.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Accounting, and Production teams.
- Travel - Occasional travels are expected for this position and could include:
- Visiting suppliers or customers before, during and after an active Project,
- Visiting REEL sites as required in North America (i.e. USA, Canada).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will You Bring to REEL USA
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or Supply Chain/ (asset)
- 5–10 years of buying/procurement experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Willing and able to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills. Able to work independently as well. Self-motivated with a track record of dependability including work history.
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to build relationships.
- Ability to remain calm and react effectively in critical situations.
- Have a strong sense of initiative and a solution oriented mindset.
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Good knowledge of manufacturing systems, quality assurance, and safety standards.
- Good knowledge of machining, welding, painting and electrical assembly processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quick to learn new systems.
- Pay – The salary wage range for this role is $70,000 to $100,000. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
