Position Summary:

Reef is looking for an AI Engineer who will build and support the systems that power Reef. We need a engineer who is deep into AI and can code. You will spend your days writing Python and React, building AI agents that do real work, and making sure the things AI builds actually run in production. This person will take an AI-generated component and gets it wired up, deployed, and working in an enterprise environment.

Our AI assistant (Zara) already runs in production - she reads executive emails, manages projects in Jira and Planner, analyzes financial data in Snowflake, builds dashboards, and coordinates across departments. Your job is to work alongside her by building new agents, writing the backend code that powers them, maintaining our websites and internal apps, and turn AI output into production-ready software.

If you have been building with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools and you understand how to take what AI generates and make it production-grade, you will thrive here.

Responsibilities:

• Write Python backends that power AI agents through API integrations, data processing, tool implementations, webhook handlers
• Build and maintain React/TypeScript frontend dashboards, internal tools, and company websites (including our investor portal and property sites on HubSpot CMS)
• Work with AI agents as coding partners to review AI-generated code, fix what does not work, refactor for production, handle the parts AI cannot do alone
• Connect enterprise systems together such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Snowflake, Jira, HubSpot, Agilysys, and more via REST APIs and webhooks
• Build MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that let employees across the company use AI tools against real company data with proper permissions
• Debug and fix production issues such as when a dashboard breaks, an API integration fails, or a data pipeline stalls, you are the one who digs in and fixes it
• Ship code every day; this is a fast-moving environment where working software beats perfect plans

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant coding experience, mixed with strong usage of AI
• Strong Python development experience such as using Python daily, and are comfortable building backends, scripts, API clients, and data processing pipelines
• Experience with React / TypeScript
• Experience building AI agents (autonomous systems with tool use, memory, and multi-step reasoning)
• Financial services, real estate, or investment industry background
• Microsoft Graph API, Snowflake, Salesforce, or HubSpot API experience
• SQL and data skills, as our agents pull heavily from Snowflake
• AWS deployment experience (ECS, Lambda)
• Actively using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in your workflow
• Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini)
• Git-based workflows and GitHub
