Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per yearJob description:Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting software and financial reporting. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting the overall financial management of the organization.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.Conduct financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budgeting.Assist in regulatory reporting and compliance with SOX requirements.Prepare for audits by providing necessary documentation and support.Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, Sage, or Xero for various accounting functions.Mentor junior staff members in accounting practices and software usage.Interpret financial reports to provide insights into organizational performance.Support tax preparation activities and maintain knowledge of tax regulations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.Strong understanding of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and financial report writing.Experience with corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, or public accounting is highly desirable.Familiarity with securities law, wills, trusts & estate law, or private equity is a plus.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Effective communication skills for presenting financial information clearly to stakeholders.
