Job Summary:
The VP Finance & Accounting will play a key role in building and scaling Reebelo’s global financial foundation. You will lead the accounting function, oversee global financial reporting (consolidated in the US), and establish the processes, systems, and controls needed to support a fast-growing international business.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable finance operations across our global entities. The role reports directly to our Founder & CEO. You will work closely with teammates across North America, the UK, and APAC, partnering cross-functionally with teams across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Oversight: Lead a global, distributed accounting team (including internal team members and outsourced partners) to maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting.
- Financial Planning & Business Partnership: Partner with the CEO and leadership team on financial planning, forecasting, and key business decisions. Provide insights on company performance, unit economics, and strategic initiatives to support sustainable growth.
- Build a Financial Foundation for Scale: Build and scale Reebelo’s finance function, ensuring accounting systems, reporting structures, and financial processes support expansion into new markets and business verticals.
- International Subsidiary Consolidation: Own the US GAAP consolidation of financial statements across multiple international subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy, compliance with local regulations, and alignment with global reporting standards.
- Local Financial Statement Reporting: Where required, oversee IFRS-compliant reporting for local subsidiaries and ensure statutory compliance.
- Lead the Company Through Its First US Audit: Prepare the company for its first US audit, ensuring historical financial statements meet audit standards and acting as the primary internal lead with auditors.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies across all jurisdictions while proactively managing risk.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in an accounting leadership role at a global operating organization. Big 4 or startup experience preferred.
- 3 years experience in a startup or scaleup environment, preferably within a marketplace business.
- Strong knowledge of international accounting standards, financial regulations, and consolidation processes.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems.
