Summary
The Lead Electronics Technician is an integral part of our production team; they are responsible for manufacturing and assembly of electronic components by the engineering and production documentation, ensuring that all work and components meet rigorous quality standards. The Lead Electronics Technician is essential in supporting the Electronics Supervisor with training and executing the production plan. A successful Lead Electronics Technician has keen attention to detail and supports others in the shop and throughout the company, both technically and as teammates.
Responsibilities
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
This position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). To comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify a US person’s status under the ITAR and the EAR.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and improve shop safety requirements and other relevant policies
- Manufacturing and assembly of Electronics part or components
- Perform functional and mechanical check outs as necessary
- Complete production documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Provide training, onboarding, technical oversight, and guidance to other team members
- Provide team feedback to Supervisor to ensure smooth operations and optimal team utilization
- Support reporting on production status and communicating obstacles with production management
- Support Engineering and Test development as needed
- Support improvement of processes and procedures
- Communicate, discuss, and listen to challenges with management, teammates, etc.
- Support problem solving activities for technical issues
- Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in electronics, assembly, manufacturing, engineering environment, or similar experience
- Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, procedures, etc.
- Computer (Windows PC) competency in word processing and spreadsheets
- High attention to detail
- Ability to solve technical problems
- Able to work together on a team
