Position Summary
We are seeking a Plant Manager to join our growing RNG company. We are looking for a candidate who brings a strong culture of ownership, and makes safety and operational excellence their top priority. They are a dynamic team leader with a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong analytical skills. The successful candidate has to be able to prioritize between competing tasks and priorities, especially when unexpected conditions arise. They have to be proficient at leading an operating team and managing the general requirements of an operational site, including contractor management. The Plant Manager will oversee the daily operations of the RNG plant, with a strong focus on efficiency, reliability, and strict adherence to safety protocols. This role is instrumental in achieving operational objectives. They will provide the overall policy making, planning, and direction of plant operation activities with the objective of plant health and safety, environmental compliance, and maximizing growth and profitability, while providing day-to-day leadership and management of all plant operations functions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all facets of RNG plant operations, performance, and integrity.
- Liaison with the Director of Operations, as well as general Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance Teams to ensure clear communication and optimal production.
- Seek technical, in-depth knowledge of plant operating procedures, equipment, maintenance protocols, governmental regulations, and related technical and safety codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot and/or resolve mechanical and/or operational related issues as required.
- Oversee staffing schedules and assist in determining staffing needs for operators as required.
- Promote safety and environmental compliance at all times by ensuring that all safety and environmental policies and procedures are developed and enforced.
- Interface with both internal and external support teams to resolve issues and improve facility reliability and safety.
- Support development and implementation of employee training programs for skill development and regulatory compliance. Develop programs in both individual and group formats.
- Supervise and work side by side with operators, technicians, and mechanics at the facility, as well as, manage contractors from time to time
- Deliver against key performance metrics (KPIs) that are utilized to maximize operational output, identify predictive failures, and reduce costs.
- Propose, communicate, and track O&M and capital budgets.
- Be available for weekend and after-hour calls from on-duty personnel pertaining to equipment repairs and plant outages.
- Provide operational input for the development of new projects.
- Provide regular reporting of plant performance to the Director of Operations.

Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, or appropriate facility management experience.
- Knowledge of landfill gas collection systems, PSA process, compression, natural gas safety standards and codes, with an acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment.
- Experience leading teams of operators and technicians.
- Excellent leadership abilities, effective communication skills at all levels of an organization, and strong administrative abilities.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, contractors, and/or customers.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Physical demands include jobsite mobility within construction sites and occasionally lifting or moving items more than 25 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally for training or meetings.
Location: Owensboro, KY
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday – Friday; standard business hours, with a rotating on-call schedule that may require work outside of business hours. Must be able to work extended hours as required during plant turnarounds and outages.
Compensation: Competitive annual salary quarterly performance bonus
