Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations with a well developed sense for safety and operational excellence to join our growing RNG company. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a strong track record of driving operational excellence across multiple facilities. The Director of Operations will provide enterprise-wide oversight of all RNG and power generation facility operations, with an unwavering focus on safety, efficiency, reliability, and financial performance. This role is critical to building and sustaining a high-performing operations organization as the company continues to scale. The Director of Operations will serve as a key leader within the organization, bridging the gap between executive strategy and on-the-ground execution.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead three plant managers and a maintenance manager. Direct report headcount will grow as new plants are constructed.
  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership and oversight of all RNG and power generation facility operations.
  • Directly manage Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers, and other operational personnel across all facilities.
  • Establish and enforce consistent operational standards, safety protocols, and environmental compliance practices across all sites.
  • Drive operational efficiency and reliability improvements across the portfolio, identifying and implementing best practices and process improvements.
  • Own the operations budget and P&L, including development, tracking, and accountability for O&M and capital expenditures.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational output, identify predictive failures, and reduce costs.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between facility operations and executive leadership, providing regular performance reporting and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the operations organization.
  • Support the design, commissioning, and startup of new facilities, ensuring seamless integration into the operational portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the VP – Projects & Operations and project teams to provide operational input during new facility development.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, utilities, and external partners to ensure compliance and maintain strong relationships.
  • Develop and implement training programs that support skill development, regulatory compliance, and career advancement for operations staff.
  • Be available for after-hours calls and emergency response as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10 years of experience in operations management within the energy, oil & gas, RNG, power generation, or related industry.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-site operations and managing teams of managers and technical staff.
  • Deep knowledge of facility operations, safety standards, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements in a hazardous environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience owning and managing operational budgets and P&L.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Commitment to safety culture and operational excellence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to facilities as required.


Location: Houston, TX or Indianapolis, IN

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Hours: Monday – Friday; standard business hours, with availability required for after-hours calls and emergency response. Travel to facilities across the portfolio is expected on a regular basis.

Compensation: Competitive base salary performance incentives
