Redstone Search are working with a global energy trading house who looking to hire an experienced power trader to their team in Stamford CT.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Develop and execute proprietary trading strategies across the PJM and Northeast power markets.
- Trade short-term power products, including day-ahead, balance-of-week, weekly, monthly, and short-dated futures.
- Analyse market fundamentals, weather, transmission constraints, outages, and supply-demand dynamics to identify trading opportunities.
- Manage risk within established limits while optimising P&L performance.
- Work closely with quantitative, analytics and origination teams to enhance market insights and trading strategies.
- Monitor market developments and react quickly to changing market conditions.
- Role reports to Head of US Power Trading
Key Qualifications / Experience
- 2–8 years’ experience trading US power markets.
- Demonstrated experience trading PJM and/or Northeast ISOs.
- Proven track record trading short-term futures and prompt products, including day-ahead, weekly and monthly tenors.
- Strong understanding of US power market fundamentals and price drivers.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with a disciplined approach to risk management.
- Located in Stamford CT or happy to relocate
