Redmont Talent Partners is working with a leading trucking and transportation company in Birmingham, AL who is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team and provide exceptional service to our valued customers. Position Overview: As a Customer Service Representative, you will be a vital point of contact for our customers, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. You will play a key role in maintaining positive relationships, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and coordinating effective communication between customers and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
- Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries, orders, and requests, demonstrating a high level of responsiveness and empathy.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and messages in a courteous and timely manner, providing accurate information and assistance.
Order Management:
- Process and manage customer orders, ensuring accurate documentation, scheduling, and coordination with dispatch teams.
- Monitor shipments to track progress and provide customers with timely updates.
Issue Resolution:
- Address customer concerns, complaints, and inquiries professionally and efficiently, striving to find effective solutions that meet both customer and company needs.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve service disruptions, delays, and other operational challenges.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and organized records of customer interactions, orders, and communications.
- Generate and distribute regular reports and updates to customers regarding their shipments.
Relationship Building:
- Develop and nurture positive relationships with customers, understanding their unique requirements and providing personalized service.
- Proactively engage with customers to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including dispatch, operations, and sales, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of customer needs.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's services, pricing, and service areas to effectively address customer inquiries.
Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the enhancement of customer service processes, suggesting improvements and participating in training and development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in customer service or a related field, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to actively listen and convey information clearly.
- Empathetic and customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software and other relevant tools.
