The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the
community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a
multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends
and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.
What You'll Do
- Assure consistent and high-quality service in Substance Use Disorder treatment facility.
- Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
- Strategically use assessment information to make an appropriate clinical evaluation of client's current conditions in a timely manner. This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate.
- Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.
- Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach.
- Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
- Available to work a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, (40-hour work week)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse(or the ability to practice as a RN in the state of Missouri).
- Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory and management role is required.
- Minimum of one (1) years of nursing experience in a mental health or substance use disorder setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as use of email.
