Job Summary:
The Employment Specialist is responsible for training individuals with disabilities in a workplace setting. The Employment Specialist will utilize specific teaching techniques to instruct individuals with disabilities in designated jobs at a work site. Ensures all assigned worksites are maintained to the highest quality standards and implements company mission and values by providing participants the opportunity for employment in a competitive, integrated setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides coaching and training to participants through use of training techniques to instruct on employer-specific job tasks, work responsibilities and skills, appropriate habits and professional behavior.
- Fosters and promotes the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the workplace
- Ensures quality and performance standards are maintained according to the job specification of the employer while still exercising the ability to hold participants accountable
- Responsible for documenting and reporting compliance
- Maintains regular contact with the Administrative Manager as appropriate
- Job Placement of at least one client a month.
- Maintain weekly contact and provide updates to clients.
- Assists individuals with completing applications and resume building
- Fosters positive relationships with employers in the community and follows employers’ policies and procedures
- Presents self in a professional and appropriate manner towards participants, co-workers, community partners, and any other party involved on the support team
- Participates in job-related training offered by WEAVE Solutions, Vocational Rehabilitation, Veterans Affair, and other local and federal training to increase skills and improve current skills.
- All other program-related duties assigned by the Administrative Manager
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates excellent skills in communication, relationship building, and problem-solving
- Ability to connect clients with suitable job openings, negotiate on-the-job training contracts
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community partners
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures manuals
- Ability to work with people that have severe, profound and/or multiple disabilities
- Ability to provide accurate case documentation
Qualifications (education, training, experience, licenses)
- High School diploma
- Minimum of (2) year experience serving individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, PowerPoint and Excel) and Google Forms required
- First Aid/CPR certification required
- Job Coaching and Job Development certification (State of Nevada)
- Must be able to have a flexible work schedule which may include working evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license required and reliable transportation w/current automobile insurance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, lift arms above shoulder level, occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
Maybe exposed to a warehouse environment and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, wind, poor air quality and wet or humid conditions, etc.
