Job Summary
Redefine Meals is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will manage daily financial transactions, maintain accurate accounting records, and support our accounting operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization through meticulous record-keeping and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with GAAP standards
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate employee compensation records
- Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules
- Collaborate with the accounting team and external auditors as needed
- Maintain organized filing systems and ensure documentation is readily accessible
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Support the preparation of quarterly tax filings and ensure timely submission
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks experience needed and Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with food service, retail, or restaurant industry accounting
- Familiarity with multi-location accounting
- Experience with payroll processing software
- Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB), CPA or progress toward CPA
