SUMMARY OF JOB
The Operating Room Technician, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, participates as a member of the OR team in planning, preparing, and implementing an aseptic and safe environment for patients and other health team members. Level II will be proficient in the first scrub role in the majority of surgical procedures, including advanced procedures and possess a superior knowledge of the various surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program
- CPR certification
- Two (2) or more years of experience as an OR Technician in a multi-specialty surgery center environment
- Surgical Tech certification (CST) must be obtained within the first year of employment.
