JOB TITLE: Food Server

JOB SUMMARY: This team member serves food and beverages at designated areas of the Hotel to maximize guest satisfaction
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities outlined here are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, however, are not all inclusive:
- Maintains the level of service standards and adhere to these as established by the organization
- Practices personal hygiene as per set rules and regulations
- Greets in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner
- Takes and inputs correct guests orders into point-of-sales system, noting any special preparations and sends orders to the kitchen
- Retrieves orders from kitchen, confirms accuracy, lifts, and delivers to guests with appropriate condiments
- Promotes and serves desserts, wines, appetizers, specialty drinks, and other items to increase sales and quality of service
- Handles all guest complaints immediately; informs Supervisor and/or General Manager when necessary
- Makes alcoholic drinks as needed
- Presents an accurate check to guests promptly and thank them for their patronage, and invites them back
- Performs side-work as assigned, including vacuuming and mopping at the end of an assigned shift
- Maintains stations in a clean and orderly fashion
- Processes and prepares all DoorDash orders swiftly and accurately
- Works with team members to establish fast and courteous service to guests
- Answers the phone promptly, clearly identifying the department to the guest
- Monitors and takes action to ensure the quality of food temperature, presentation, and freshness
- Follows the opening and closing check list, side station duties, and any posted list of duties
- Maintains a complete understanding of the menu and daily specials to fully inform the guest
- Attends training classes that are scheduled by the Hotel
- Abides by all State, Federal, and local liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
- Keeps informed about kitchen preparation times and/or backlog times in order to keep the guest informed of delivery times
- Reports all suspicious persons, activities, or conditions to the appropriate individuals in accordance with the Hotel’s safety, security, and emergency procedures
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- A High School diploma, or the equivalent thereof, is preferred
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
The experience and knowledge requirements outlined here are representative of the minimum that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position; however, higher levels of experience and knowledge than required may be reflected during the recruitment process:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- The ability to obtain and maintain TIPs (Training Intervention Procedures) is required
- Experience in cash handling is required
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
- Excellent guest service skills are required
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, menus, guest relations, and etiquette is required
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware is required
- The ability to remember, recite and promote menu items and special promotions is required
- The ability to learn and operate a point-of-sale system to pre-check orders and close out the check is required
- The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common messages and instructions
- The ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests and have the ability to write communication for services available
- The ability to work mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Food Handlers Certificate required
- Basic Computer Skills
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
- Prior bar and restaurant experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Continuously stands, walks, and balances
- Frequently bends/stoops, reaches above/below shoulder level, and kneels
- Occasionally climbs and squats
- Continuously lifts/carries up to ten (10) pounds is required
- Frequently lifts/carries up to twenty-five (25) pounds is required
- Occasionally lifts/carries up to fifty (50) pounds is required
- Occasionally pushes/pulls up to fifty (50) pounds is required
- The ability to use office equipment including, but not limited to a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone, is required
- The ability to transport trays of beverages and/or food items through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift is required
