Job Summary
As a welder/fabricator at Kingstar, you will work in a hands-on shop environment where quality, precision, and teamwork are essential. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where skilled technicians collaborate to produce top-of-the-line truck campers and RV trailers.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Perform MIG or TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless materials
- Inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity
- Maintain proper weld appearance and penetration standards
- Use precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares
- Perform layout work and prepare materials for fabrication
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
- Work independently or with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines
- Assist with loading, unloading, and handling materials in the shop
- Perform routine maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and production staff regarding project status and issues
- Ensure all completed work meets company quality standards and customer requirements
- Minimum 1–3 years of welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and measuring instruments
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and welding procedures
- Ability to accurately measure and fabricate parts to specification
- Familiarity with welding safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and working in a shop environment for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Dependable attendance and punctuality required
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines
- Welding certifications are a plus but not required
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
