Red Wagon Goats is a locally-owned small business based in Stone Mountain, Georgia, providing environmentally friendly vegetation management throughout Metro Atlanta. Using our herd of goats alongside traditional landscaping techniques, we help homeowners, businesses, municipalities, and organizations reclaim overgrown properties from invasive vegetation like kudzu, English ivy, poison ivy, briars, and other dense growth.

About the Position
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in improving properties through hard, hands-on work.
The primary focus of this position is supporting our land clearing and landscaping projects and helping maintain our farm grounds & exterior. You'll spend much of your time preparing customer properties for goat grazing, completing cleanup after projects, maintaining our farm grounds, repairing fences, mowing, weed management, and helping keep both our customer sites and our farm looking their best. You will work both independently & on a team.
Occasionally, you'll also assist with our goats when additional help is needed, but this is a secondary part of the position and no prior livestock experience is required.
This is a flexible, project-based opportunity with hours varying by season. During our busiest months, work generally averages 10–20 hours per week, though schedules vary based on customer projects and weather.
Primary Responsibilities:
Landscape & Field Operations
- Prepare customer properties for goat grazing by clearing fence lines and access paths through dense vegetation
- Spread mulch and assist with landscape restoration after grazing projects
- Remove woody debris and invasive plant material
- Operate string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and other outdoor equipment
- Assist with general landscape maintenance on customer properties
Farm Maintenance
- Muck stalls and maintain farm grounds
- Pull weeds and maintain gardens and landscaped areas
- Repair and maintain fencing
- Complete general farm maintenance projects
- Gardening, weed eating, planting, leaf blowing
- Help keep the farm organized, clean, and presentable
Occasional Goat Support
When additional help is needed, you may also:
- Help move goats between grazing areas
- Assist with fence setup and breakdown
- Support basic goat care and health maintenance
- Fill in for field staff when needed

This job is physically demanding. You'll regularly lift heavy materials, work on uneven terrain, spend long hours on your feet, and work in Georgia's heat, humidity, cold, rain, and everything in between.
QualificationsRequired
- Experience operating two-cycle outdoor equipment (string trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Comfortable working independently outdoors
Bonus points:
- Chainsaw experience
- Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
- Fence construction or repair experience
- Farm or livestock experience (helpful, but not required)
- Experience towing trailers
Compensation & Schedule
- $17–20/hour, depending on experience
