Affordable Housing Maintenance Technician

(Free On-Site Housing Provided)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and highly responsive Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support an affordable housing community. This role focuses on day-to-day maintenance operations, timely response to resident needs, and assistance with snow removal and emergency maintenance. Free on-site housing (manager apartment) is available as part of the total compensation package.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance and repair work in occupied and vacant units, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and emergency calls
• Assist with snow removal, including sidewalks, stairways, entrances, and parking areas, as needed
• Prepare units for move-in and assist with unit turns and inspections
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure property safety and operational efficiency
• Maintain common areas, grounds, and exterior building conditions
• Remove trash and ensure proper waste disposal
• Communicate effectively with site management regarding work orders and property conditions
• Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and affordable housing compliance standards
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience as a Maintenance Technician in residential or affordable housing preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, responsive, and able to assist during adverse weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and perform manual labor
• Willingness to assist with snow removal and emergency situations
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to pass background and pre-employment screening
