We are looking for an Actuarial Valuation System Support Developer to maintain, operate, support, and enhance a custom-developed Actuarial Valuation System for the client. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, data integrity, defect resolution, software updates, application enhancements, reporting support, user assistance, and knowledge transfer. The ideal candidate will have strong application support/development experience, experience working with business users and technical teams, and the ability to support a deliverables-based environment involving analysis/design, implementation/testing/support, and knowledge transfer.
The developer will work closely with actuaries, business analysts, IT teams, and stakeholders to diagnose and resolve issues, document requirements, develop enhancements, support QA/UAT, manage code repository and Jenkins pipeline practices, and ensure all work products are properly documented and transferred to client personnel.
- Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing custom-developed enterprise applications.
- Strong experience with application troubleshooting, defect analysis, root cause identification, and production support.
- Experience analyzing enhancement requests and documenting design options, effort estimates, and target delivery dates.
- Experience developing and testing approved application changes within controlled technical environments.
- Experience with QA testing, unit testing, user acceptance testing support, test cases, and test outcome documentation.
- Experience supporting code repositories, build/deployment practices, and Jenkins or similar CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with reporting systems, data imports/exports, backups, and data integrity validation.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, FAQs, training materials, meeting notes, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Experience working with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, and end users to align system functionality with business needs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to participate in change control, issue triage, status reporting, and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Prior experience with actuarial, pension, retirement, financial, insurance, or valuation systems is highly preferred.
- Prior public sector or state government application support experience is a plus.
