What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Supervisor position at Red Sky Lighting?
We are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to oversee and manage the quality control processes in our manufacturing operations for explosion-proof lighting products. This role is responsible for supervising quality inspectors, ensuring products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of the Quality Inspection team, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards as well as relevant industry regulations and certifications (e.g., UL, ATEX, IECEx if applicable).
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and inspection standards.
- Investigate quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality problems and improve processes.
- Monitor and report key quality metrics such as defect rates, scrap, and rework.
- Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits or customer inspections.
- Train and guide quality inspectors and production staff on quality standards and inspection methods.
- Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
Compensation
$26-$32/hr
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in lighting, electrical equipment, or explosion-proof products is a plus.
- Familiar with quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC, FMEA.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with regulatory certifications such as UL, ATEX, IECEx.
- Experience in supplier quality management.
The expected salary range for this position is $26-$32 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
