Duties
- Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, shovels, and other hand tools to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated areas.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as excavators and power tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Apply salt or de-icing agents to prevent ice buildup on walkways, stairs, and parking lots.
- Perform minor maintenance on snow removal equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with landscaping teams to assist with lawn care, landscape maintenance, tree trimming, or gardening tasks during off-peak seasons.
- Maintain detailed logs of completed work, equipment usage, and safety checks throughout shifts.
- Ensure all work areas are safe by removing hazards like ice patches or debris that could cause slips or accidents.
Experience
- Prior experience operating snow plowing machinery such as snow blowers or plows is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of landscaping practices including lawn care, hardscape installation, and irrigation systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, excavators, and other construction or maintenance equipment is beneficial.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Experience in horticulture or tree care can enhance your ability to support seasonal landscape projects.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to outdoor maintenance work in winter conditions.
