Yard Worker

Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Yard Worker and become a vital part of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and maintaining a safe, organized yard environment. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes, supporting the overall success of our distribution center. This position offers an engaging work environment where safety, teamwork, and operational excellence are prioritized. All roles are paid positions, including internships.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Operate heavy machinery such as cranes and heavy equipment to move large or bulky items safely and efficiently.
• Pick and process orders with precision using RF scanners and pick systems to ensure accurate shipping and inventory updates.
• Manage warehouse inventory through regular stock counts, data entry into warehouse management systems (WMS), and proper storage practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized yard by stacking pallets, securing loads, and ensuring clear pathways for safe movement of goods.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies to prevent accidents during manual handling, heavy lifting, or mechanical operations.
• Assist in shipping & receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and coordinating with transportation providers for timely delivery.

Experience

• Prior warehouse distribution or warehouse experience is highly preferred.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, crane operations, or load & unload machinery is essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management systems and materials handling procedures.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety protocols and mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
• Construction or heavy machinery experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong manual handling skills combined with basic math proficiency for accurate counting and measurement tasks.
• Previous supervisory experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
