Duties

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using patient management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and personal data, maintaining accuracy at all times
• Manage incoming phone calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
• Process billing, insurance claims, and payments in accordance with health regulation policies and insurance guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information in compliance with privacy laws and health regulations
• Support medical staff with administrative tasks such as document preparation, data entry, and filing in electronic health records (EHR) systems

Skills

• Proven experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting with strong knowledge of medical administrative procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication tasks
• Familiarity with health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance to ensure patient confidentiality
• Experience with patient management software and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems for accurate data entry and retrieval
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person
• Knowledge of health insurance processes, billing procedures, and claims submission standards
• Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and documentation
• Ability to type quickly and accurately for efficient data entry and correspondence
