Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Scale Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately weighing and recording the weight of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our shipping and receiving operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Duties
- Weighing and Recording: Accurately weigh vehicles and materials using scales, documenting weight and other relevant information.
- Customer Service: Greet drivers, answer questions, and provide assistance related to weighing procedures and facility operations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of transactions, payments, and other relevant data.
- Safety and Security: Ensure the safety of drivers, customers, and employees, and secure the scale house at the end of each shift.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Keep the scale house and surrounding area clean and orderly.
- Troubleshooting: Report any malfunctions of scales or equipment to supervisors.
- Data Entry: Enter data into computer systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
- Other Tasks: May be assigned additional tasks or assigned jobs to assist other departments
Qualifications
- Basic math skills for calculating weights and fees.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency for data entry and record-keeping.
- Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and weight calculations.
- Ability to operate scale equipment and other related tools.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
This is a swing shift position rotating days and nights, 10 on 4 off.
