What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Direct Support Professional - Full-Time position at Red River Human Services Foundation?
We are currently seeking a team member to fill our Lead Direct Support Professional position:
Applicants must:
- Must be an eligible driver for RRHSF (at least 25 years old, valid driver's license, & driven for 5 years) and have a reliable, insured vehicle
- Motivated to teach
- Be dependable and reliable
- Assist people with disabilities to be independent in their activities of daily living
- Attend staff meetings
- Be able to effectively communicate with team members
- Demonstrate ability to approach challenging situations with a calm approach
- Provide different levels of support to people with disabilities to meet their needs
- Provide training and oversight to other DSPs
- Assist Residential Coordinator with administrative duties, including medication, record audits, financial audits, data audits, and other duties as assigned
- Pass medications and assist with medication training of other staff
- Have a positive attitude and be self-directed
Applicants should be
- Comfortable assisting with personal cares (toileting, bathing)
- Comfortable with possible behaviors (therapeutic intervention training provided)AND
- Should enjoy participating in community activities as well as in home leisure time activities
Hours:Must be able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and days. The typical schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm, every other holiday, & on-call rotation.
