Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product quality to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership in inspections, testing, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across the production process. The QA Lead ensures that products are safe, consistent, and meet customer expectations while guiding and supporting the QA team and production staff.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Oversight & Product Testing
- Lead routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Supervise monitoring of production processes and equipment to identify deviations from SOPs and quality standards.
- Oversee and perform quality tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods (e.g., moisture content, purity, foreign material detection).
- Review and analyze test results to identify trends, escalate issues, and drive corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure all QA activities comply with industry regulations and company policies, including food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
- Maintain and review accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control measures.
- Prepare, validate, and approve quality documentation, including certificates of analysis and quality reports.
Compliance & Safety Leadership
- Champion compliance with GMP, HACCP, and other relevant standards.
- Lead internal audits and inspections, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
- Promote a culture of safety by enforcing health and safety protocols and reporting hazards or incidents promptly.
Problem Resolution & Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations into quality issues, collaborating with production staff to determine root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Drive root cause analysis and preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Training & Team Development
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to production staff and QA team members on quality standards, inspection procedures, and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhancement and leading implementation efforts.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and quality assurance principles.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and manage QA staff.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
