Position Summary
The Red Oak Greenhouse is seeking 2 dependable and motivated Team Leads to support daily operations in our Production and Shipping Departments. The Team Lead will help coordinate employees, maintain production efficiency, and ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and according to company quality standards.
The ideal candidates are hands-on leaders who communicate well, leads by example, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced greenhouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support greenhouse production/shipping employees during daily operations
- Assign tasks and help organize employees to meet daily goals
- Monitor workflow, productivity, quality
- Train new employees on production/shipping procedures, equipment, safety practices, and quality expectations
- Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures and workplace safety requirements
- Monitor plant handling and production quality to minimize damage and waste
- Communicate priorities, changes, and expectations to team members
- Identify production/shipping issues and work with supervisors to resolve them
- Help coordinate workflow between production and shipping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Provide feedback to employees regarding performance and work expectations, provide additional training, coaching and correction as needed
- Help foster a positive, respectful, and productive team environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous greenhouse, nursery, agricultural, manufacturing, or production experience preferred
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and work effectively with a diverse team
- Dependable with strong attendance and a positive attitude
- Ability to prioritize tasks and keep team moving efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to learn and operate greenhouse equipment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow and enforce safety and company procedures
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required during busy seasons
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and move plants, trays, containers, and materials
- Ability to work in varying greenhouse temperatures and humidity
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to safely work around production equipment and moving machinery
