Host

Job Purpose:

The Host is the first and last impression of the dining experience, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for every guest. Organized, attentive, and service-driven, the Host manages guest flow with efficiency and grace while reflecting Main Street Hospitality’s commitment to thoughtful, guest-centered hospitality in every interaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
• Manage reservations and waitlists accurately using the reservation system.
• Escort guests to tables while engaging in friendly and professional conversation.
• Communicate seating flow clearly with service and kitchen teams.
• Monitor table status and coordinate with servers to optimize guest flow.
• Provide accurate information regarding menus, specials, and dining policies.
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and service recovery with professionalism and care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area.
• Assist with light support duties to ensure smooth dining room operations.
• Uphold Main Street Hospitality’s high service standards at all times.
• Perform additional relevant tasks as requested by management.

Education & Experience:

• Previous experience in a host or guest-facing hospitality role preferred.
• Familiarity with reservation systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage guest flow efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks as required by daily operations.
• Comfortable working flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work Authorization:

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
