AV Tech

Job Summary:

The Audiovisual Technician will prepare, arrange, operate, and maintain A/V equipment such as video cameras, computers, projectors, soundboards, mics, and lights.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Records worship services on Sunday mornings and other events as determined by the Director of Communications.
• Runs any combination of: video switcher, camera controller, livestream computer, soundboard, and standalone cameras for events that require A/V.
• Receives requests for AV equipment in spaces from the Director of Communications; sets up and tests equipment, then operates equipment or hands control over to designated personnel.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise with the A/V equipment using the signal chain.
• Regularly and effectively uses software for video and audio streaming, recording, and editing.
• Learns new software and technologies as they are introduced.
• Edits, copies, and stores recordings of events.
• Uploads recordings to appropriate platforms in a timely manner.
• Provides instructions for the operation of equipment to non-AV employees.
• Provides advice and suggestions to staff regarding the preparation and use of AV materials for services, studies or events.
• Tracks inventory of equipment and requests necessary supplies.
• Facilitates needed equipment repairs, which may include shipment of malfunctioning equipment to outside suppliers and rental of temporary replacement equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft, Google, and Adobe Suites (Primarily Google).
• Knowledge of ProPresenter, OBS, and DaVinci Resolve or other appropriate Audio/Video Editing Software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extremely proficient in computer systems used with multimedia productions.
• Ability to troubleshoot quickly and effectively under pressure.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to perform minor repairs to equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of situations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Audiovisual Technology or related field preferred.
• At least two years of experience in the operation of audiovisual and video electronics.​​​​​​​

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working audiovisual equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Excellent hearing and eyesight with or without correction.

Salary : $17 - $22
