Role Description
- This is a full-time, on-site role located in Portsmouth, NH, for an Architectural Intern / Project Coordinator. The Architectural Intern / Project Coordinator supports the project team in the design and delivery of architectural projects from concept through construction administration. This role combines hands-on design and drafting tasks with critical project coordination activities. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual eager to develop their technical and professional skills in a fast-paced environment under the supervision and support of a Project Manager.
- Assist in creating architectural plans, sections, elevations, and details throughout all project phases (schematic design, design development, and construction documents).
- Develop 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials for client meetings and internal reviews.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from senior staff and consultants.Assist the Project Manager and Project Architect in organizing, executing, and tracking project tasks to ensure they are completed on time.
- Coordinate and communicate with other team members, consultants, and engineers to ensure a cohesive design.
- Manage and properly document project files, correspondence, and submittals.
- Facilitate communication between the design team, clients, and contractors.
- Perform research on building codes, zoning ordinances, and other regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and identify products, materials, and fixtures for project specification.
- Conduct occasional site visits with the Project Manager to observe progress during construction and monitor compliance with design plans.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in architectural design, Revit and other support software (e.g., AutoCAD, Lumion, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong understanding of project planning and coordination
- Ability to conduct research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Problem-solving abilities and a high degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Previous experience in an architectural or construction environment is a plus
