What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Hand/Laborer position at Red Deer Ironworks- RDI?
Job Purpose: To complete general shop duties in an efficient and safe manner, assist in all areas of the shop.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
No previous work experience required but is a bonus
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Assist in assembly / QC Functions
b. Banding/Stamping as required
c. Loading and offloading paint racks
d. Participate in all Toolbox or Production and Safety meetings
e. Forklift operation as required
f. General Housekeeping duties
g. Hand Tool use
h. Identify defective components from previous stage of assembly or re-build
i. Be available to assist with other tasks when directed or otherwise not engaged
j. Be actively involved in lean manufacturing projects
k. Ensure that testing bays and material movement areas are kept free of hazards
l. Hydro/Pressure testing and rebuild of parts
Responsibilities in Quality Assurance and Health and Safety as outlined in RDI’s Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Safety Manuals.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
