We are seeking an experienced CPA or Tax Preparer to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in tax preparation, compliance, and client service, with at least 3 years of professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Research and apply current tax laws and regulations to client situations
- Provide tax planning strategies and recommendations to minimize liability
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices and inquiries
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication
- Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Assist with bookkeeping and accounting services as needed
- Stay current with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards
- Manage multiple client engagements and meet critical deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Active CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Ultra Tax, Drake, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of federal tax codes and regulations
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA certification
- Experience with high-net-worth individuals or complex business returns
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
