What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at RecruitPod Global?
About the Role
Project Manager - Residential ADUs
Run your own projects. Build for a winning team. Get paid for performance.
South Shore & South Coast of Massachusetts | Full-time Field-based
This is the rare Project Manager role where you run the whole show, build work that genuinely matters to families, and get paid like the results are yours - because they are.
Competitive base salary plus an uncapped, performance-based bonus.
The Role is hiring experienced Project Managers to run residential Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) projects from the first site visit through final completion. An ADU is a complete home in miniature: permitting, site work, septic, utilities, foundation, framing, mechanicals, finishes, and closeout - all compressed into a tight, high-accountability schedule.
This is a demanding role for someone who already knows how to run ground-up residential construction from start to finish. You will own the budget, schedule, subcontractor coordination, quality, and customer relationship. This is not a training role; we need a manager who can walk onto a site and know what should be happening, what comes next, and how to keep the job moving.
Responsibilities
- Run Your Own Show
- The Project Manager owns the project. You carry the job from drawings to certificate of occupancy and make the calls that get it done.
- Your schedule.
- Your subcontractors.
- Your budget.
- Your client.
- We hire people we can trust to run their work like it is their own business - and then give them room to do it.
- If you have always known you could run it better if it were yours to run, this is that seat.
- What You Will Own
- End-to-end responsibility for the project - from drawings through certificate of occupancy.
- Pre-construction, drawings & permitting
- Review and interpret engineering, septic, and site-work drawings - and catch problems before they reach the field.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and surveyors through design and construction.
- Manage local permitting end to end, including building and, where applicable, conservation, Board of Health, and zoning.
- Identify and resolve conservation and wetlands issues and maintain project compliance.
- Site work & below-grade
- Plan and oversee tree clearing, erosion control, and site preparation.
- Manage excavation, site work, septic installation, water-line installation, and foundations.
- Confirm each phase is correct and passes inspection before the next phase begins.
- Vertical construction through completion
- Manage framing, roofing, siding, windows, and doors through a finished, occupiable home.
- Oversee mechanicals, insulation, drywall, interior finishes, punch list, and certificate of occupancy.
- Hold quality standards on every trade, on every project.
- Subcontractors, schedule & budget
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries to protect the build timeline.
- Run each project to its approved budget or better, protecting gross produced margin.
- Track progress, change orders, and documentation daily in project-management software.
- Customer experience
- Serve as the homeowner's main point of contact from kickoff through handoff.
- Set expectations, communicate proactively, and resolve concerns before they become problems.
- Deliver an experience worthy of a five-star review.
