Commercial Service Technician

Summary:

The Commercial Service Technician work alongside other technicians to install and service commercial/industrial doors, door opening systems, gate opening systems, and dock leveling systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of these systems for our customers.

Job Description:

• Engage with customers and team members regarding scheduling of installations, service/repair calls, and field issues.
• Maintain and schedule vehicle safety checklists.
• Order and manage stock inventory and shop supplies following J&L Door Service, LLC procedures.
• Handle incoming material paperwork.
• Review technician paperwork and prepare it for invoicing.
• Organize bi-weekly Toolbox Talks.
• Create and maintain a library of technical information for products.
• Assist in producing the daily schedule and providing information to the Service Manager.
• Communicate installation schedules, planned maintenance, and fire door testing to customers.
• Handle incoming residential inquiries and provide quotes for new residential doors.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties to support business operations as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years' experience in a construction-related field using power tools.
• Ability to handle stress effectively and maintain a positive outlook.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to pass a standard drug test.
• Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with power tools.
• Physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds, work at heights of up to 40 feet, and operate a forklift.
• Ability to read and write legibly, communicate over the phone, and maintain good eyesight (with corrective lenses if needed).
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and a dirty, dusty, oily environment.
• Manual dexterity in both hands for hand tool use.
• Basic arithmetic skills for addition and subtraction.
• Neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
