We are hiring a Staff Nurse for our client hospital in Galway, Ireland.
Responsibilities
Work as a member of the nursing team on day duty and carry out duties as assigned by the Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
Provide skilled nursing care and participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised patient care, ensuring a patient-centred approach.
Recognise the diverse needs of patients and provide holistic support to patients and their families.
Maintain controlled drug records in accordance with recognised legal and professional standards.
Ensure the safe storage and administration of medications in line with hospital policies, Department of Health requirements and NMBI guidelines, prioritising patient and staff safety.
Supervise the nursing practice of less experienced team members and contribute to their professional development and education.
Provide holistic care and support to emergency, medical and surgical patients, taking into account their individual needs.
Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date patient records and written reports in accordance with NMBI recommendations.
Ensure the appropriate and economical use of unit stock and materials, and the safe and correct operation of all equipment.
Ensure patients' belongings are safeguarded in accordance with hospital policy, where required.
Requirements
Be registered or eligible to register in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
Have at least 2 years post registration experience - ideally
