RecruitNet International Ltd is hiring an Healthcare Assistant for a Nursing home in Co Kilkenny, Ireland.
This opportunity is open to EU citizens as well as candidates holding Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G permissions.

This is a full-time position
Responsibilities
- Support nursing staff in delivering high quality person centred care that meets the individual needs of residents.
- Build positive relationships with residents by understanding their interests, preferences, and providing companionship and emotional support.
- Assist residents with mobility and encourage independence while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Support residents with personal care and hygiene needs while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
- Assist residents with eating, drinking, and maintaining physical comfort and overall wellbeing.
- Organise and participate in social and recreational activities that promote engagement and quality of life.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and staff to foster positive relationships and continuity of care.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection prevention throughout the home.
- Contribute to a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out any additional duties as required by the Nurse in Charge or management team to support the effective operation of the service.
Requirements
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification, completed or currently in progress.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of HIQA standards and their application in a care setting is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently using initiative and sound judgement when required.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Positive attitude with the ability to remain professional and resilient in a challenging care environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and resident focused approach.
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, and Garda Vetting.
