What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Poperty Accountant position at Recruiting Solution Incorporated?
Our client is a leading, privately held real estate investment firm delivering top-tier, risk-adjusted returns in major U.S. innovation markets. We're seeking a talented Accountant II or Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. As a key senior accountant, you'll handle complex accounting for property, fund, and partnership entities, review junior staff work, drive technical accuracy, and support our Controller and Assistant Controller in delivering timely, high-quality financial reporting.
What You'll Do:
- Lead monthly GAAP and tax-basis closes for sophisticated commerical property, fund, and partnership structures
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, estimates, and close packages prepared by team members
- Prepare and analyze internal financial reports, variance explanations, and management insights
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned audits, coordinate directly with external auditors
- Research and apply U.S. GAAP to complex/non-routine transactions, support adoption of new standards and firm policies
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedure documentation
- Mentor and coach junior accountants; contribute to process improvements for greater efficiency and scalability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Property Management, Lease Administration, Treasury, and Investor Relations
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 years of progressive accounting experience (real estate, fund, or partnership accounting strongly preferred)
- Public accounting background a plus
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Proven ability to review work, provide constructive feedback, and mentor others
- CPA (or progress toward CPA) preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $110,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Semi-annual bonus 25%
