About the Opportunity
A well-established San Diego law firm has an immediate opening for a Litigation Docketing Specialist or Litigation Docketing Assistant to support its civil litigation teams.
This is a high-priority hire.
They need someone immediately.
This role provides critical support to attorneys and staff by ensuring accurate calendaring, deadline calculation, and compliance with court rules across multiple jurisdictions.
Primary Focus
- Civil litigation docketing and calendaring
- State and federal court deadline calculation
- E-filing and court rule compliance
- Supporting attorneys and litigation teams
What You Will Do
- Review pleadings, filings, and docketing requests to calculate critical deadlines
- Calendar state and federal court deadlines accurately
- Research court rules to confirm and supplement deadline calculations
- Update and maintain docketing systems
- Proofread and quality-check calendar entries
- Generate docket reports and deadline summaries
- Monitor updates to court rules and communicate changes
- Support attorneys and staff with docketing questions
- Assist with and support e-filing processes
This role requires precision, urgency, and the ability to manage high-volume deadline tracking without errors.
What You Need
- 1–3 years of civil litigation experience
- E-filing experience is required
- Knowledge of California state court deadlines strongly preferred
- Understanding of pleadings and litigation workflow
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines
- Ability to work onsite three days per week
Work Model
- Downtown San Diego preferred
- Del Mar possible
- Hybrid schedule
- Three days onsite required
- Downtown strongly preferred, as the docketing manager and team sit there
Compensation
- Base salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 depending on experience
- Compensation calibrated based on experience level (Assistant vs. Specialist)
