A well-established real estate law office is seeking an experienced Residential Real Estate Paralegal / Title Closing Specialist to support a busy residential closing practice. This is a great fit for someone who has worked in a title company, title agency, or attorney-supervised closing office and understands the full life cycle of a residential real estate transaction from file opening through post-closing.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable coordinating with agents, lenders, surveyors, abstractors, insurance companies, termite companies, clients, and attorneys to keep transactions moving smoothly and accurately.
Responsibilities include:
- Open new residential real estate files and maintain closing checklists and deadlines
- Communicate with real estate agents, lenders, surveyors, abstractors, insurance providers, termite companies, buyers, sellers, and attorneys
- Draft and prepare buyer and seller closing documents
- Review and prepare lender documents for residential closings
- Prepare title commitments from examiner notes
- Prepare owner’s and lender’s title policies, including short-form policies and endorsements
- Process payoffs and prepare releases
- Coordinate and wire payoffs in connection with closings
- Prepare recordable documents for e-filing
- Return completed loan packages and closing documents to lenders
- Handle post-closing matters, including policy issuance, recording follow-up, and final file completion
Ideal background:
- Prior experience with residential real estate closings
- Experience in a title company, title agency, real estate law firm, or attorney-run closing office
- Familiarity with title commitments, title policies, lender packages, payoffs, releases, and post-closing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active files
- Professional communication skills with clients, agents, lenders, and third-party vendors
- Ability to work independently while supporting attorneys and closing teams
