This Staff Associate provides courteous guest service, maintains an organized bar, practices responsible alcohol service, and completes setup and cleanup according to the client's requirements.

Before the Event

Attend the pre-event briefing. Review the beverage menu, approved recipes, service hours, guest count, and arrangements for an open bar, cash bar, or drink tickets.

Set up and stock the bar with beverages, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, napkins, and tools. Check equipment and report missing supplies or unsafe conditions.

Confirm opening inventory, assigned cash funds, prices, and payment procedures when applicable. Coordinate with the supervisor and barbacks before service begins.

During Service

Coordinate orders with servers and barbacks, replenish supplies, and respond professionally to guests. Confirm ingredient and allergy questions with the supervisor; never guess.

Verify guests' age using approved identification. Follow venue procedures for checking IDs, authorizing service, last call, and bar closing.

Safety and Closing Duties

Follow handwashing, sanitation, and cross-contact prevention procedures. Handle ice with an approved scoop and keep garnishes, glassware, tools, and bar surfaces clean.

Address spills and broken glass promptly, following venue procedures. Report injuries, equipment problems, and guest incidents to the supervisor and complete required reports.

Reconcile assigned sales and cash with the supervisor. Record closing inventory, report discrepancies or waste, and secure remaining beverages and supplies as directed.

Clean and sanitize the bar, return equipment, remove trash, and complete assigned breakdown. Check out with the supervisor and submit accurate time records.

Current TIPS certification and any additional credentials required for the assignment.
